JoAnn Burton, 82, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. Born in Eden, Texas on August 25, 1932, she was the daughter of Lillie (Moffett) and John Herron Jacoby. She married Doyle Burton on June 1, 1963 in Eden, Texas. JoAnn had been a resident of Abilene since 1963. She worked for Andrews Furniture as bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran church. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and her husband Doyle Burton on December 5, 2013. Survivors include her daughters, Rose Ann Baker of Abilene, and April Collum and husband Steve of Abilene; brother, Leonard Jacoby of Dripping Springs; four grandchildren, Matt Finlay of Midland, Doug Finlay of San Angelo, Justin Jenkins of Durango, CO, and Jennifer Jenkins of Denver, CO; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Brett Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Doug Finlay, Matt Finlay, Justin Jenkins and Tyler Finlay. Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
