Jo Anne Clark, 83, of Abilene, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road.
Jo Anne was born on April 6, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Edward C. Nott and Althea (Mendenhall) Nott. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1943 and went on to graduate from Texas State College, now known as Texas Women's University, in 1947. Jo Anne married James W. Clark in Abilene on March 21, 1957. She worked as a Paralegal.
For many years Jo Anne was a volunteer at Hendrick Medical Center. She loved skeet and trap shooting and loved to travel. She traveled extensively throughout Europe. Jo Anne was a loving wife and a strong supporter of Rescue the Animals.
Preceding her in death were her parents. Jo Anne is survived by her husband, James W. "Jim" Clark, of Abilene; two daughters, Katy Young and husband Michael, of Hawley and Kelle Snyder, of Abilene; and one brother, Edward C. "Bud" Nott, of Iola, Kansas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jenna, Joel, Robbie and Casey.
