Jimmye Walker

Jimmye Walker, 90, of Winters, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Winters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Lauren Garduno officiating. Burial will follow at Shep cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Jimmye was born in Crews, Texas to John Adams “Quincy” Traylor and Alice Laura (Lucas) Traylor on March 2, 1931. She went to school at Winters graduating from Winters High School. She married Billie Joe Walker on April 26, 1953, in Abilene. She worked for Security State Bank for many years, having also worked at the Wingate gin for many years. She was a member of Wingate Baptist Church.

Jimmye was preceded by her parents and her husband Billie Joe Walker.

Jimmye is survived by her son, Larry Don Walker and wife Fran of Winters, daughter, Pattie Haynie of Alvarado; five grandchildren, Colby Walker and wife Rhonda, Laci McCright and husband Kevin, Shelby Walker and fiancé Bryan King, April Matthews, and Chris Haynie; great grandchildren, Reese Walker, Landry Walker, Kolton McCright, Kree McCright, Nick Matthews, Shyann Matthews, Allison Matthews and Katelyn Matthews; great great grandchildren, Chase Davis and Levi Davis.

Pallbearers will be Brent Mikeska, Brett Mikeska, Tim Arrott, Cecil Ray Self, James T. Self and Gary Antilley.
