Jimmy Ray Stayton, 53, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his residence in Killeen, Texas, after a short bout with liver cancer. Born in Abilene, Texas on August 17, 1955, he was the son of Margaret (McGaha) and Glen Roy Stayton. Since the late 1990's, Jimmy had been a resident of Killeen, where he had been employed by Dependable Paint & Body Shop for the past seven years. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Vicky Lynn Stayton in 1949, and his father, Glen Roy Stayton, on June 23, 1979. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Margaret Stayton of Abilene; brother, Gary Stayton of Gatesville; sisters, Kimberly Caton of Abilene and Veda Monroe and husband, Terry, of Potosi; and numerous nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Moore officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Jimmy's friends at Dependable Paint & Body Shop for all of their help and support, and a special thank you to Debbie Culp, his best friend, for all of her help and care.
