Jimmy Bell

1957 — February 26, 2008

Jimmy Bell Jimmy Bell passed from this earth and the arms of his loving family and friends, into the arms of his Savior and the Angels on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at a local hospital after a sudden illness. He was 50 years old. Jimmy was born July 30, 1957 to Jim and June Bell in Knox City, Texas. He attended Abilene Public Schools and graduated from Cooper High School in 1976. Jimmy married the love of his life, Julie Burson, March 1, 1980. He is survived his wife, of the home, and two sons, Matt, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas and Chris, of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his mother, June Bell of Abilene, Texas, a sister, Nadine Hufnall of Weimar, Texas and his mother-in-law, Jo Helen Burson, of Abilene, Texas. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jim Bell and his father-in-law, Albert Burson. Jimmy worked for most of his adult life in the health care and medical supply business. He was employed by Freedom 2 Go at the time of his death. Jimmy was first and foremost a family man, a husband and a father. He loved his boys with all his heart and delighted in their achievements. Some of the most precious times were his coaching opportunities at Dixie Little League and Southwest Senior League with his sons. Jimmy not only loved and encouraged his own children, but cared about all the children he was involved with through youth sports organizations. Jimmy was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and enjoyed teaching children's Sunday School. He served on the board of the Grace Museum during the term of major renovation to the Grace Hotel. Jimmy was a friend to many and loved to spend time just listening to what was happening in the lives of those friends. Jimmy leaves an indelible and loving imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.
