Jewell Frances Perkins Williams, 84, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at an Abilene medical center.
The daughter of Lucy Elizabeth (Hill) and R. H. Perkins, she was born on May 31, 1928 in Ward, Arkansas in Lonoke County and graduated from Lonoke High School in 1948. She married Alvin W. Williams on December 28, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona. In 1969, she moved from Okinawa, Japan to Abilene.
Mrs. Williams had been a Red Cross volunteer for many years and was a founding member of the Abilene Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mamie Wilson, Dora B. Rogers and Marie Roberts; and three brothers, Frank Perkins, Tommy Perkins and Virgil B. Perkins.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin W. Williams of Abilene; son, Father David Williams of Georgetown, Texas; and daughter, Margaret Boulanger and husband Bruce of Houston, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, in Buffalo Gap Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the funeral home.
