Jesse Lee Steele Jr., 65 of Abilene, TX was called home to Heaven on January 2nd, 2019 Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday the 6th of January and Monday the 7th of January from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday the 7th of January 2019, oOfficiated by Pastor Rodney Watson from Lytle South Baptist Church at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Jess was born in Abilene TX to Nona Faye and Jesse Lee Steele Sr. He is a graduate of Abilene Cooper High School and Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater. He married Dawn Lea Lombardo Kuehn on April 5th, 2000 in Abilene, Texas. He was retired from DECA at Dyess AFB where he worked as a Meat Cutter. He loved to travel with his wife and children. He was very proud of his achievements on the football field being referred to as the "Blond Dynamo" by the Abilene Reporter News but his shining moments were with the love he shared with his wife, children and grandchildren who called him Peek-a-boo. Jess was preceded in death by his son Sonny Shane Steele, sisters Caroline Ann Wood, Vickie Jean Morton, Tammy Lee Steele, and parents Nona Faye and Jesse Lee Steele Sr. He is survived by his spouse Dawn Lea Kuehn; children Jennifer Steele, Brian Steele, wife Danna of Abilene, Texas, Jacob Kuehn wife Lindsey of Lockport NY, Samuel Kuehn wife Danielle of Abilene, Texas; brothers Jeff Steele wife Janie Frickie of Lancaster, Texas, Olen Steele wife Reinette of Bracketville, Texas; sister Kelly Steele Heller, husband Ryan of San Antonio, Texas; nephews Jon Stark wife Chrystal of College Station, TX and Hogan Heller of San Antonio, Texas and niece Safirrea Renfro of Abilene, Texas; and grandchildren Destiny, Sterling, Kyleigh-Jo, Kase-Lyn, Bransyn, Rowdey, Daniel and Naomi.
