Jerry Paul Dehlinger, 67, died Saturday, March 17 at Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas after a brief illness. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Following a private family burial, a memorial service will be held at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Wednesday, March 21 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverends Greg Kennedy and Jon Sims officiating.
Jerry was born on November 26, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas to Billie and William Dehlinger, Jr. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1958. He attended the University of Texas in Austin where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and received a BBA degree in 1962. Jerry served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant while stationed in Germany. He married Linda Rendleman in Dallas on September 4, 1965. He was owner of Texas Properties, an Abilene real estate appraisal company.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, the late William Dehlinger, Jr.
He is survived by his mother; his wife, Linda; a son, Bill Dehlinger and wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Debbie Senter and husband, Steve; a sister Cecilia Barahona; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Marty Rendleman; grandchildren, Katie, William, and Michael Dehlinger; Steven and Lindsey Senter and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, West Texas Rehabilitation Center, Salvation Army, or the donor's favorite charity.
