Jerry Dub Carter, 68, passed away Tuesday, August 12th in Weslaco, TX surrounded by family.
He was born September 30th, 1945 to Atha and RL Carter of Abilene. He was born and raised in Abilene, and attended and played football for Abilene High. He attended Grace Baptist Church where he met and began courting the love of his life Rebecca A. Carter (née Griffith).
A generous and well-rounded man, his passions included Civil War and World War II history, restoring military vehicles, battlefield reenactment, woodworking, and acting. He also worked as a computer engineer, truck driver, children's home director, history teacher, football coach and principal.
