Jeremy Maxwell, 29, died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at an Abilene medical center.
Born in Aurora, Colorado on June 14, 1981, Jeremy was the son of Billy Patrick Maxwell and Janet Marie May Maxwell. He married Kami Shea Alexander on June 28, 2003 in Abilene, and moved from Sweetwater to Abilene eight years ago. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene.
Jeremy had struggled for the past five years as a quadriplegic as the result of a near fatal car accident in San Angelo, Texas when he was a student at Angelo State University.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Maxwell, and grandparents, Don Maxwell, Ann Maxwell and Doug May.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Kami Maxwell, and son, Brock Maxwell, of Abilene; his dad, Pat Maxwell and wife Donna Maxwell, of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law, Kacey and Brandon Hefner and nephew Camden Hefner of Fort Worth; grandmother, Marjorie May of Sweetwater; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Karla and Danny Alexander of Abilene; brother-in-law, Keaton Alexander of Abilene; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6th, at Broadview Baptist Church with Rev. David Cason and Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Keaton Alexander, Chase Pinkerton, Kyle Pinkerton, Steve Dobson, Craig Maxwell, and Marc Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
