He married Marianne Bolders on October 22, 2000, in Houston, Texas. His career was in the computer industry, retiring from Texaco in 2001.
Jerry and Marianne moved to Abilene in 2003 enjoying their retirement in a relaxed environment and to be close to Marianne's mother. Jerry was a caring, loving, and devoted son-in-law.
Jerry was a quiet man with a gracious heart. He enjoyed delivering for Meals on Wheels until a stroke occurred in 2017. Later in life he developed a passion for photography and beautifully captured nature in places such as Big Bend National Park. He showed love, compassion, and pride through his grandchildren. The memories created and shared with them will be tenderly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Fincher; daughter Paulette Friddle and her husband Russell of Fort Worth; son Jon Fincher and his wife Christa, of Lake Worth; daughter Elizabeth Way and her husband Nathan of New Braunfels; his grandchildren Ashton and Logan Fincher, Alex Mason, Jackson, Colton, Adelyn and Nicholas Way. The family would like to give special recognition and appreciation for the kindness, direction, love and support of Dr. Robert Striegler, his nurse Teresa, and CNA caregiver Sharon Bustamante.
From his initial diagnosis of a glioblastoma brain tumor in February, Jerry's faith, braveness, dignity, strength and tremendous amounts of courage never wavered. His absence will be deeply felt by his family but the mark he left on our hearts will forever live on.
