Jean Brabbin

Doris Jean Brabbin, 85, of Abilene, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. The daughter of Gwendoline (Jenson) and Roy George, she was born on August 1, 1928 in Cisco, Texas. Jean worked as a receptionist and was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene. She was a loving wife and mother. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her husband, Bill Brabbin of Abilene; son, Bob Brabbin and wife Billie of Cleburne; three grandchildren, Beau Brabbin, Baron Brabbin and Lea McGee; and two great-grandchildren, Brailynn Brabbin and Christian Brabbin. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Chapel at Southern Hills Church of Christ with Danny Minton, Bill Bryant and Richard Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 8, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Anthony McColum, Mike Ward, Randy Roy, Bill Newman, Eddie Lewis and Bob Gauger.
