Janice Louise Evans

Janice L. Evans, 72, of Abilene passed away on May 11th, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday May 13, 2016 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Graveside services will be held on Saturday May 14th at 11:00AM in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Janice was born in Fort Worth to Dr. Robert W. and Alethea (Pinkie) Evans on June 24th, 1943. She went to school in Clyde, Texas and graduated in 1961. She attended North Texas State University in Denton. Janice worked for John Korman Insurance Agency for 49 years. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Linda Ann Seelig and nephew John Steele. She is survived by her brother Robert (Bobby) Evans of Colorado, her sister Lisa Dugan and husband Michael of Clyde, her nieces and nephews: Sandy Barham, Malissa Stephenson, Kurt Evans, Lynzi Evans, Brandi Watson and Michael Dugan along with several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her companion of 20 years, D.L. Groves and his family: Jason and Gayle Groves of The Woodlands and Nate and Courtney Groves of Austin, along with several grandchildren, Crockett, Elisa, Sophia, Ella and Madeline.
