Janet Poor, 82, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her residence in Hodges, Texas.
The daughter of Eva Marie (Boulette) and Joseph Louis Barrieault, she was born on June 13, 1928 in Skowhegan, Maine. She married J. L. Poor on May 25, 1946 in Portland, Maine, and since 1946 had been a resident of the Abilene area. She was a homemaker and a member of Caps United Methodist Church.
Her parents and one brother, Robert, preceded her in death.
Janet is survived by her husband, J. L. Poor of Hodges; sons, Jimmy Lloyd Poor of Hodges and Robert Wayne Poor and wife Libby of Abilene; daughter, Pamela Gayle Phillips of Abilene; and four grandchildren, Gina Miller (Keith Breland), Bradley Robert Poor, Todd Aaron Poor and Callie Jeanette Shelton. Survivors also include three brothers, Alfred Barrieault of Skowhegan, Maine, Paul Barrieault of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Linwood Barrieault of Clearwater, Florida.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hyde, Steve Singletary, Tommy Cumby, Joe Compton, Lewis Brooks, Jr., and Bill Cathey. Honorary pallbearers will be Joreta Smith, Charles Byers, Button West and David Atkins.
