Janet Taylor Lawless

Janet Taylor Lawless, 77, of Abilene, passed away on November 17 in Abilene surrounded by family.

 A Celebration of Life for Janet will be held at a later date.

 Janet was born in Flagstaff, AZ to Byron and LaVerne Taylor on January 14, 1947. She went to high school in Snyder, Texas. She graduated from McMurry University in Abilene. She married Jerry Lawless in 1970 in Abilene and had one daughter, Traci Lawless of Euless, Texas. She was an elementary teacher at several different schools in the Abilene Independent School District for 25 years. She was also a member of University Church of Christ for many years.

 Janet loved nature and animals, and loved traveling to “her mountains” in New Mexico. where she and her father would frequently fly fish. This was her happy place. 

 Janet was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. 

 Janet is survived by Traci Lawless, her daughter, and a brother, as well as many cousins.

 The family of Janet wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Julie Neill, Hendrick Hospice, Visting Angels, Justin Adames, FNP and Dr Jeffrey Edwards who cared for her so well.
