Jana Merlene Watts
Jana M. Watts, 75, beloved mother, sister, Nana and friend passed away from natural causes and met her Lord and Savior, Monday, Oct. 21, 2024. A celebration service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Abilene, TX.
Jana had a warm and gentle spirit, always thinking of others before herself. She was always generous, giving away more than she had. She raised three children as a single parent in a warm and nurturing home, instilling in them a love for Jesus Christ and service to church and community.
Jana was born in Lawton, OK to Gail and Ruth Wilson on November 15, 1948. She graduated from Lawton High School. Jana was blessed to work as a secretary for many years at First Baptist Church in McKinney, TX. After that, she worked as an office manager at Family Healthcare Associates before retiring to spend time with family and friends.
Jana was preceded in death by her parents Gail and Ruth Wilson. Jana was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Tiffany Hammer, and her husband Rick, son David and his wife Crystal, son Derek and his wife Kelly, sister Lisha Franklin and her husband Steve and sister Gaila Boucher. She is survived by her precious eight grandchildren: Nathan Hammer, Noah Watts, Ethan Watts, Cooper Watts, Tanner Watts, Logan Fisher, Bailee Fisher and Telli Watts.
