James Francis House, Jr., 62, of Abilene died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at an Abilene medical center.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 19, 1949, James was the son of Beulah (Kitchens) and the late James Francis House, Sr., and moved to Abilene as a teenager. He was a decorated U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War receiving a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. Most of his life was lived in Abilene where he was a security officer for Brinks Security when he retired. Jim loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and close friends.
James is survived by his son, David House and wife Kristen of Houston; daughter, Jamie House Freels of Houston; and five grandchildren, Haleigh House, Hunter House, Tyler Freels, Hannah Freels and Kahlan Freels. Survivors also include his mother, Beulah House of Fort Worth, one half brother, Charles Burgamy of Austin; and the mother of his children, Judy Easterling of Conroe, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene with Rev. David Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Pallbearers will be David House, Cody Breland, Darrell Breland, Chuck Connally, Dan Smith, Cody Morrow, Jim Hargett and Phil Martin.
Memorial contributions in James's honor may be made to American Heart Association.
