Jacqulynn “Jackie” Purvis Hoyt, 68, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Abilene.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday January 17, 2019 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Ritter, officiating.   Interment will follow in the Hamby Cemetery under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Jackie was born on December 5, 1950 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to the late John and Bobbie (Brashears) Purvis. She and Roy Hoyt were married on June 5, 1976 in Abilene. Jackie worked as a director at Betty Hardwick Center for 23 years. She retired in 2009.   She was the former owner and operator of the Willow Creek Chapel for 5 years, worked at the Abilene State School for 9 years and worked for Timex for 4 years. Jackie was a huge supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy, the Special Olympics and she loved working with special needs children. She loved working with crafts and she was an avid deer hunter. Jackie has been a resident of Abilene most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her brother Lloyd Purvis.

Survivors include her husband Roy of Abilene; one daughter, Kendee Craft and husband Jim of Hamby, Texas; two sons, Troy Hoyt of Abilene and Tim Dodson and wife Trina of Abilene; one brother, Don Purvis of Hamby; three sisters, Johnelle Hicks and husband Victor of Hamby, Joretta Watts and husband Albert of Hamby and Debbie Diggs and husband Joe of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren, Bristee Bostick, Kallee Craft, Laci Lancaster, Jessica Hoyt, Bailey Howell, Sean Hoyt, Rylee Dodson, A.J. Ortega and Josh Ortega; and two great grandchildren, Karson Welch and Everlee Bostick.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Craft, David Halford, Justin Bostick, Lee Leverich, Bradlee Leverich and A.J. Ortega.

The family of Jackie Hoyt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Windcrest Alzheimer’s Care Center employees for their loving care for Jackie.
