Jackie Will Huggins

J.W. "Pat" Huggins, 65, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at a local hospital. A memorial service, with Reverend Tim Temple officiating, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Abilene Bible Church under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Pat was born May 25, 1941 in Denton, Texas. After graduation from high school, he married Glenna Harris on February 11, 1961 in Odessa, Texas. The couple moved to Abilene in 1967 where Pat became store manager for the Harold Crawford Tire Company. He continued working for the store as it grew to Bridgestone / Firestone and then to GCR Tire Center. Pat was a leading tire salesman in the Abilene area for many years as he won many awards and trips for being the outstanding salesman in area sales contests. He loved to play golf at Shady Oaks. A member of Abilene Bible Church, Pat was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Sam Owens. Survivors include: his wife, Glenna Huggins of Abilene; a daughter, Becky Boyd and husband Bruce of San Antonio, TX; three sisters, Bobbie Lou McBride of Brownwood, TX, Fern Little and husband B.R. of Denton, TX, and Ann Mathison also of Denton; a nephew, Gary Huggins of Maryland; a niece, Kerry Britt of Florida, and special friends, Chico Cerna, Primo Perez, and Doc Johnson.
