Jack Hein, 90, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 10th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
The committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11th at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Road.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16th in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
The son of Olive (Watts) and John Hein, Jack was born on March 28, 1925 in Hammond, Indiana, where he graduated from George Roger High School in 1943. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served from June 30, 1943 to February, 12, 1946. Jack was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Corporal.
He retired after a career of working in quality assurance for a defense contractor. Jack attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene.
Jack married Patricia Quinn on April 23, 1947 in Whiting, Indiana. Patricia preceded him in death on May 7, 2013. Two sons, Jack Thomas Hein and John Robert Hein; his parents, John and Olive Hein; and a sister, Gertrude Straker, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include numerous relatives and friends, including his McDonald’s coffee drinking buddies.
