Jack V. Goodrich, 79, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at a nursing center in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Konawa, Oklahoma on August 31, 1929, Jack was the son of Freda Rebecca (Pairret) and Frank Goodrich. He was a U. S. Army veteran, and worked in the oilfields as a driller. Since 1980, he had been a resident of Abilene, where he was a member of Beltway Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jackie Howard Goodrich, in 2002; his parents; two brothers, Larkin Goodrich and Ralph Goodrich; and three sisters, Ada Mae Marvelli, Mary Clark and Wanda Williams.
Jack is survived by his wife, Theda Goodrich of Abilene; son, Bruce Goodrich and wife, Trina, of Covington, Indiana; daughter, Gail Brenneman and husband, Robert, of Rensselaer, Indiana; brothers, Escar "Eck" Goodrich and wife, Gloria, of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Charlie Goodrich of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 31, at Beltway Park Baptist Church with Pastor David McQueen officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana, on Thursday, September 3, following a visitation from 10 a.m. until noon at the Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, Indiana.
Due to the travel to Covington, Indiana, the family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beltway Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 4009 Beltway South, Abilene, TX 79606.
