Jack Crenshaw

Jack Crenshaw, 86, of Abilene died Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born in Big Spring, Texas on September 3, 1925, he was the son of Ethel (Hamilton) and Willis W. Crenshaw. He was a 1942 graduate of Big Spring High School and attended Schreiner Institute and The University of Texas. Jack first worked for Pinkie's Package Stores in Big Spring before transferred to Pinkie's in Impact, Texas. In 1978 he opened his own store, Abilene North Liquor Store, which he sold when he retired in 1992. Jack moved back to Big Spring from Abilene in 1994, but returned to Abilene in 2009 for medical treatment. Jack married Patsy Whittington on August 7, 1965 in Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Willis H. (Dub) Crenshaw. Jack is survived by his wife Patsy Crenshaw; daughter Karen French; granddaughter Alisha Smith; three great-grandchildren Kori Gallimore, Kara Martin and Dakota Smith; two nieces Barbra Crenshaw and Kathryn Milch; and grandniece Tiffany Roman and her three children Luke, Katelynn and Cole. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are being handled by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family expresses special thanks to Hospice of the Big Country and special ladies for their loving care during Jack's final days. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, TX 79605, or a charity of the donor's choice.
