Jack was born in Lovilla, Iowa to Harry and Clara Chamberlain on April 28, 1931. He attended country schools around Lovilla and then graduated from Albia High School in 1948. Right out of high school he went to work for a road construction company, at which he was rapidly promoted to foremen for his ingenuity and work ethic. Shortly afterwards Jack began working for the Iowa Soil and Water Conservation Department in Bloomfield, Iowa where he won awards for his contributions to his community, state, and nation. He volunteered at Iowa State College working with young people in the 4-H program for which the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation awarded him with the Silver Clover Award for his leadership skills. In the midst of work and volunteering, he found time to meet Miss Eloise Watts and marry her on May 11, 1951.
In 1960 Jack took a job as a sales representative for Wilson Trailor Co. in Corning, Iowa. In 1966 he moved with his wife and five children to Columbia, Missouri where he had been promoted to branch manager of the new office. Wilson Trailor Co. then transferred Jack and his family to Abilene, Texas in 1969. Jack continued as a manager and salesman for Wilson Trailor Co. until 1976, at which time he obtained his real estate license. Chamberlain Real Estate flourished due to Jack's integrity, wisdom, and hard work. It is now a family-owned business under the management of his son Scott Chamberlain and granddaughter Julie Taylor.
Jack knew no stranger and strived for the betterment of his community. He loved working on teams to accomplish great things. In 1979 he became a board member for the Ben Richey Boys Ranch-a time when his dedication and determination helped to keep the doors open. Over the next 36 years, Jack promoted the Boys Ranch by talking to innumerable people and raising a substantial amount of funds. Today, the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Family Program is able to provide homes and communities to single moms as well as providing a safe place for boys to become men.
Jack served on the Appraisal District Review Board, president of the View-Caps water board, Steamboat Mountain water board, and assisted with the Chili Super Bowl Cookoff for 30 years along with countless other volunteer services in Abilene and the surrounding areas.
Jack was preceded in death by Eloise who was his wife and friend for 65 years; his parents; his brothers Bob Chamberlain, Rex Chamberlain, and Lester Chamberlain; sisters Dorothy Barton and Wilma Vinall; granddaughter Jamie Chamberlain; and great-great-grandson Jackson Puente.
Jack is survived by his children Karen and Ron Quinney of Conroe, TX; Diana and Michael Flud of Hawley, TX; Dale Chamberlain of Abilene, TX; Scott Chamberlain of Tye, TX; Eric Chamberlain of Abilene, TX; sisters Donna Winburn of Iowa; and Zelma Weiss of Nevada; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Jack would be greatly honored if memorial was given in lieu of flowers to the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Family Program at www.benrichey.org
