Joseph Dwayne "J.D." Parker, 73, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held today, Tuesday, June 12, at 3:00 pm at Elmwood Memorial Park with Tony Grisham officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
J.D. was born in Marshall, Texas on February 25, 1939. He lived in Abilene most of his life and worked in the oil field and ranching. He loved to go fishing, cherry ice cream and talking about "Old Abilene and the Days Gone Bye".
He was preceded in death by his parents. J.D. is survived by two sons, Pernell Parker of Tucson, Arizona and Sidney Parker of Big Spring; one daughter, Tracy Parker also of Big Spring; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
