Inez Williams

Inez Williams, 96, of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Abilene.

 Graveside services will be held, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Iberis Cemetery.

 Inez was born in rural Taylor County Texas to Susie Mae (Smith) and John Alexander Whitley on March 11, 1928. She was the Valedictorian of the 1945 Wylie High School graduating class. She married Virgil H. Williams in Abilene on May 4, 1946. She was the Chief Deputy County Clerk for Taylor County for 23 years. Inez was a member of Wylie Baptist Church for many years. Inez was very much loved by and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was able to spend a great amount of time with each of them, which she cherished.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter, Becky Moody, her brother, Omer Whitley, and sisters, Maedell Cheairs and Faye Glover.

 Inez is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Andrew Benson, Neeca and Haven Martin, Kaitlyn Moody. Three precious great grandsons, Jaxon and Caden Martin, Korbin Gretillat, and her son-in-law, Gene Alyn Moody.
