Our Precious Mother and Mom Ma, Ida Mae (Mrs. Elbert G.) Peak, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Brad Wilkerson will officiate with Stan Allcorn assisting. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 3, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Ida Mae was born in Anderson County, Kentucky on January 7, 1922 to Albert and Lucy Perry. She married the love of her life, Elbert G. Peak, June 19, 1940 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. She was a devoted Pastor’s wife for over 50 years and continued to serve the Lord all the days of her life. One area of service during her life involved working with children, whom she loved dearly. She served as Director of Faith Christian Schools from 1959 until her retirement in 1990. Many, many children were greatly influenced by her love and Godly example. Mrs. Peak was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Don Perry, Eugene Perry, Jesse B. Perry, J.T. Perry and half-brother, Bobby Perry; two sons-in-law, David Runnels and Travis Robinson. Survivors include daughters, Lucy Kay Robinson, and Gay Runnels; son, Sam Peak and wife Brenda, all of Abilene. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kory Robinson and wife Shannon, Perry Robinson and wife Stacey, Ashley Robinson, Jory Runnels and wife Calley, Cinnamon Medanich and husband Monty, Shonna Peak, Jesse Peak, Sarah Buck, Jessica Buck and Hannah Peak; as well as her great-grandchildren, Campbell and Landry Robinson, Lexi and Parker Robinson, Cutter and Tripp Runnels, and Cadee Grace Medanich. She is also survived by her half-sister, Brenda Faye Wilhoite. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Lula Butler, Steve and Mary Hodges, Jake and Carol Moore, Larry and Nancy Hampton, LaVern Mooty, Peggy Edwards, and Billy Dale and Jan McCann.
