Tina was born December 30, 1921 in Heerlen, Holland to Hein and Maria (Gorissen) Robberts. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Heerlen, Holland. Tina married Dingenus “Deas” Petrus Bolders on May 17, 1944. She endured the atrocities of WWII while living near the Dutch/German border. Deas served in the Holland Army and was captured by the Germans. He later escaped from a German prisoner of war camp. Tina left Holland with her husband and children to find happiness in the land of opportunity immigrating to Abilene, Texas. Leaving her family to start such a long and insecure journey was extremely difficult. The language barrier was their first obstacle to overcome. There were many hard struggles that lay ahead. Deas died suddenly in 1971. She was a housewife until his death. Following her husband’s death, Tina worked for Thornton’s, Grissom’s and retired from Dunlap’s. Traveling back to Holland was one of her greatest joys. Tina was a devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Mathue Knubben and one sister, Elly Feely.
Tina is survived by her son, Eddie Bolders and wife Gloria of San Antonio; her daughter, Marianne Fincher and husband Jerry of Abilene; two sisters, Wisa Hoenjet and Mia Fokkens , all of Heerlen, Holland; her nieces and nephews and family from Holland.
We wish to acknowledge the love and care Tina received from Dr. Robert Striegler and his nurses, Hendrick Medical Center Parker 5 Medical Staff, as well as the Hendrick Hospice Team.
Our Mama will be remembered as a true lady with a quick wit, gentle nature, and a friend to all. Although she endured many disappointments, hardships, and sorrow, she embraced each day with a grateful heart. In the end it does not matter what you were in life, but rather how many lives you touched in your lifetime. Mama was unique in the lives she touched in a positive caring way. Her children honor her as a steadfast, loving, and inspirational Mama.
