Funeral services for Homer Donald "Don" Price, 90, of Abilene, are set for 2:00PM Sunday, March 18, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, officiated by Pastor Stan Allcorn. Burial will follow in Ross Cemetery at Baird, Texas. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00PM Saturday, March 17, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Mr. Price died Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.
Mr. Price was born in Callahan County, Texas on February 23, 1928 to Homer Otis and Ola Faye (Boyd) Price. He grew up in Callahan County, graduating from Baird High School in 1945 and Ranger Jr. College in 1956. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, he moved to Abilene where he met and married Lillie Marie Peyrot on March 1, 1959. Mr. Price was a career police officer with the City of Abilene for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a longtime member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lillie Price of Abilene; children Brenda Prince of Abilene, Donna Davis and husband Todd of Saginaw, Texas, Chris Price and wife Marlene of Flower Mound, Texas; and grandchildren Jeff Prince and wife Deanna of Ovalo, Aimee Prince of Abilene, Matthew Davis and Bethany Davis both of Saginaw, Jake Price and Luke Price both of Flower Mound. Great-grandchildren are Lane, Tucker, and Riley Prince of Ovalo, and Chrissy and Weston Prince of Abilene. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents; brothers W.J. and Rondal Price; and sister Doris Havins.
