Helen Sue Riley

         Mae Sue Helen Riley, a/k/a Helen Sue Riley, passed away on June 16, 2018 in Abilene.  She was born August 8, 1922, in Dallas, Texas.  Her mother, Sallie Atterbury Riley, predeceased her and her father, Robert Lee Riley, predeceased her.  Her father was in the Navy in WW1. 

            Helen graduated from Abilene High School 1938, B.S. from University of Texas in 1949.  She lived in Crane, Marfa, Midland and in Abilene since 1960.  She was a pharmacist at Barnes & Williams Drugstore, River Oaks Pharmacy, and Riley Pharmacy with her mother Sallie “where they worked as hard as 2 men for half the pay.”  She was survived by many cousins.  The family thanks Dawn Rabas for her long-term love, devotion, and assistance for Helen. 

            Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Hamil Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas 79606.

            Graveside services will be on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas.
