Helen Patricia Klett, 76, of View, Texas, died in Abilene on Saturday, September 22, 2012 following a lengthy, courageous battle with numerous health issues.
The daughter of Ruth Olive (Rigler) and Cecil Brook Ratliff, she was born on February 23, 1936 in Donna, Texas and graduated from Roswell High School in 1954. She had been a resident of the Abilene and View area since 1954. Helen married Horace Klett on July 23, 1960 in Abilene. She was a devoted wife of 52 years, having centered her life around her family. Helen was a member of View Baptist Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Adam; and two brothers, Otis Ratliff and Charles Ratliff.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Klett of View; daughters, Paula Klett and Bill Drake of Corpus Christi, and Vicki Harris and fiancé Philip Wicker of Abilene; son, Brad Klett of View; two grandchildren, Dylan and Amber; four great-grandchildren, A.J., Ian, Paige, and T.J. Ryan; one brother, Wayne Ratliff of Houston; one sister, Nancy Warlick and husband Bill of Hawley; and a brother-in-law, Van Klett and wife Jessie of Epps, Louisiana, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Rev. John Fanning and Rev. Billy Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Janice Smith, Christina Addison, Pam Miles, Fay Morris and Irma Fittz.
