Hazel Young Tedford
Hazel Tedford, 73, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at a local hospital. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 3:00 pm at Broadview Baptist Church, with Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Hazel was born to Ross Berryman Young and Sarah Tate Young on August 30, 1932 in Clyde, Texas. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1950. Hazel married Harlan Neal Tedford on October 10, 1953 in Abilene. She was a deputy clerk for the Taylor County Clerks Office for 33 years. She retired in December of 2000. She has been a resident of Abilene and a member of Broadview Baptist Church for many years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1999, one sister, Bessie Hayes, and one brother, Robert Young.
She is survived by her children, Pam and Doyle Sellers of Abilene, Carol and Odell Taylor of Abilene, Lewis and Trisha Tedford, of Mesquite, Texas, Cindy Walters and Justin Tedford of Abilene; one brother Roy and Letha Young of Clyde; one sister, Clara Cheek of Abilene; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Bradshaw, Clay McKee, Brandon Walters, Michelle (Tedford) Ferrell, Tyler Walters, Cody Sellers, Cadie Taylor, Kyle and Casey Walters; four step-grandchildren, Nolan Sellers, Leah (Sellers) Weinkauf, Justin and Katie Barham; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steven Wallis, D.J. Weigel and Hazel's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
