Hazel Webb Hindman

Hazel Webb Hindman, 91, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  Rev. David Cason will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 20th at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Hazel was born in Rule, Texas on August 2, 1926 to James and Bessie (Place) Webb.  She married Cecil Wayne Hindman on September 11, 1976 in Bedford, Texas.  He preceded her in death May 15, 2005.  Hazel worked as a teller for Bank of Commerce for 40 years.  She later owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetics in the River Oaks Shopping Center for 15 years.  Hazel was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, five sisters: Vera Ratliff, Creola Cone, Emma Glover, LaVerne Lee and Billie Jones; as well as four brothers: Cleo Webb, Norman Webb, J.E. Webb and Davis Webb.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Vicki Hindman Thomas and husband Bill of Waxahachie; two sisters, Mary Pyland of Abilene and Joan Billings of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; one grandson, Eric Thomas and one great-grandson, Jacob Nathaniel Thomas.
