Dr. Hal H.”Bud” Ramsey, 89, went to be the Lord our Savior on the evening of July 28,2024 in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Amanda Watson of, Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal, officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Bud was born in Abilene, TX to David & Louisa Ramsey on July 4, 1935. He Attended Texas Tech University and graduated from Baylor University with a DDS in Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. He worked as a Pedodontist in Abilene for 40 plus years. In 1961 Bud married George Mitchell and they had two daughters, Sidney Ramsey DeVilliers and Shannon Ramsey Sanders. Bud married Elizabeth (Suzie) Dykes and they have spent the last 40 plus years happily married.
Bud had a passion for fishing, golfing and hunting. He made many lifelong memories with close friends during those times. He was a dedicated member of Church of the Heavenly Rest of Abilene and volunteered his time to the Church.
Bud was preceded in death by parents David Seth & Louisa Ramsey,Sr., David Seth and Patricia Ramsey, Jr., and Frankie Ramsey.
Bud is survived by wife Elizabeth(Suzie)Ramsey, daughters Sidney Ramsey DeVilliers (Andre) and Shannon Ramsey Sanders, William (Bill) Ramsey (brother), Michelle Fernung, Charles Lacy IV, Timothy Lacy, MD (Jill), grandchildren Ryan, Joshua, Gabriella, Shannon, Kelli, Nichole, Caitlyn, Chane, Chandler, and Ty. Several nieces, nephews, close friends John & Harriet Barbie and heavenly friends Bill Baker and Billy Standly.
Pallbearers will be Mike Morrow, James Sanders, Ryan Sanders, Gerald Galbraith, and Timothy Lacy. Honorary pallbearers Josh DeVilliers, Chap Ramsey, Bush Ramsey, Seth Ramsey, and Jason Ramsey.
Memorials may be given to Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal Abilene.
