H. Glenn McWilliams

H. Glenn McWilliams, 76, passed away on November 3rd, 2018 in Dallas, TX.

   Glenn was born on November 6, 1941, in Dallas, Texas; but grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas.   He graduated from Wichita Falls Senior High School, University of North Texas, and The School of Banking of the South at LSU.

   Glenn began his banking career as a Federal Bank Examiner. He came to Abilene in 1982, with Interfirst Bank.   His career in banking took him to New Mexico from 1984-2001, where he worked for the Ford Bank Group, and retired as a Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo in 2001.   

   Glenn served on the Board of many organizations including Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, The American Heart Association, The Grace Museum, and most recently on the Taylor County Appraisal Review Board. 

   Glenn was a die-hard University of Texas Longhorn fan, and a staunch supporter of the arts.

   He is proceeded in death by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. McWilliams.

   He is survived by his dear brother, Colby L. McWilliams. Wife of 35 years, Sue Morris McWilliams; daughters Cara Davis (Garrett), and Cathy Pettus (Keith). Four grandchildren; Garrett Davis Jr., Maggie Davis, Colby and Lucea Pettus.

   Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Abilene on Tuesday November 6th, 2018 at 1pm.   A reception will follow the service at the Abilene Country Club. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

   In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Rescue the Animals of Abilene, Texas or the charity of your choice.
