Gwendoline Chaney

Gwendoline Chaney, age 85, died peacefully at home February 7, 2006. Preceding her in death were husband, J.T. Chaney; her siblings Jack Standard, Ruth Beyer and Eva Hortense Reeves; and her parents Lillie May and M.O. Standard. She is survived by her children: Don Chaney (and wife Gayle) of Lindale, Lynda Custer (and husband Randle) of Tuscola, Jane Hurley (and husband Mac) and Judi Gentry both of Abilene. Mrs. Chaney had 12 grandchildren; Kelly Joy, Steven Chaney, Sherry Hall, Katie Boisvert; Lori Bissey, Todd Parvin, Michele Coffman, Loretta Custer, Tynisa Piercey; Brad Hamilton, Heather Sims and Sarah Gentry; Jill Smith, Beth Dukes, and Zan Jayroe. She had 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chaney was a homemaker who lived in the Rotan, Abilene, and Potosi area. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2006 from 5 – 7 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Dr. Tom Lyda, Dr. Chris Diebel and Rev. Jon Sims will preside at services to be held on Friday, February 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church where she was a member and frequent volunteer.
