Guanna Rattan Porter

Guanna Rattan Porter, 76, of Abilene, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at a local Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas with Kevan O'Banion officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the funeral home. Guanna was born on February 28, 1932 to the late James Vansickle Rattan and Jewell Berneice (Carpenter) Rattan in Gober, Texas. She married James Weldon Porter in Weatherford on April 13, 1949. James and Guanna moved from Ft. Worth, Texas to Abilene in 1970. Guanna had worked for Citizens National Bank for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Wylie Church of Christ. Guanna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Tim Porter, one brother, Harold Rattan. She is survived by; one son, Randy Porter and wife Julie of Arlington; one daughter, Anna Channell and husband Tim of Abilene; two brothers, Royce Rattan and wife Kay of Ft. Worth, David Rattan and wife Bette of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Mildred Parsons, Martha Stewart and Alta Ferguson, all of Ft. Worth; seven grandchildren, Austin Porter, Chase Porter, Clark Channell, Bryce Channell, Tyler Channell, Timothy Michael Porter and Tammy Myers; four great-grandchildren.
