Glenna Faye Vivian, 72, died Monday, February 28, 2011 in Abilene at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Avoca, Texas on February 20, 1939, she was the daughter of Johnny Lucille (Driskill) and James Hillard Easterling. She was a graduate of Avoca High School, and married Robert L. Vivian, Sr. on December 9, 1959. Glenna and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Bob's Ponderosa Restaurant in Dummerston, Vermont for 25 years. Glenna retired as a manager from Verizon in 1992, and then moved back to Texas after they sold the restaurant. Glenna was passionate about her gardening, cooking, sewing dresses for her niece, quilting, and her annual sister reunion. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Glenna volunteered with the Adaptive Recreation Activities and the Special Olympics. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob Easterling and Bill Easterling; and two sisters, Dottie Massey and Mary Joyce Easterling. She was also predeceased by her very loved pet, Cockie. Glenna is survived by her husband, Robert L. Vivian, Sr. of Abilene; two sons, Robert L. Vivian, Jr. and Lisa of Putney, Vermont, and Gregory Vivian of Magdalena, New Mexico; daughter, Cynthia Crawford and husband, Dana; six grandchildren, Robert Scott and Sabrina Vivian, Sarah and Missy Holden, and Emily Vivian; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Rhea, Aurie and Kiera. Survivors also include a brother, Jack Easterling and wife Linda of Abilene; seven sisters and spouses, Wanda Bounds of Lakewood, Washington, Jenny White and C. L. of Hamlin, Ruth Rogers and Sam of Lubbock, Peggy Hollowell and Ruby Blascyk both of Abilene, Mattie Elliott and Curtis of Hawley, and Jane Inskeep and Mike of Mt. Vernon, Washington. A celebration of Glenna's life for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 4th, at Rose Park Activity Building on South 7th Street. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
