Glenna Mae McInroe, 82, of Abilene, passed away on September 26, 2015 attended by family in Abilene, Texas. She was a dedicated Christian, wife, mother, and partner. Glenna was born in Lubbock County to J.C. and Stella Taylor on July 20, 1933. She went to school and graduated from Whitharral, Texas. She married Wendell McInroe on June 10, 1952 in Brownfield, Texas. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife of 63 years raising three children. She lived in Lubbock, Denver City, and Bowie before retiring to Abilene.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Stella, one sister, two brothers, and her twin, Glendale.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell; daughter Connie Kennedy and husband Jay of Big Spring; son Craig and wife Sylvia of Houston; and son Kevin and wife Gae Lynn of Abilene. She had 9 grandchildren: Taylor Osborn and Cody of Big Spring, Taryn Kennedy, Nella McInroe, Tate Kennedy, Keelyn McInroe, Thomas McInroe, Elena McInroe, Clancy McInroe, and Rylan McInroe. She was blessed with one greatgrandchild, Jake Osborn of Big Spring. She is survived by one sister, Billie Jo Kirkland of Amarillo.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 2, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Chris McCurley of Oldham Lane Church of Christ officiating. A private family burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene later in the afternoon.
