Glen Allen Rutherford

Glen Allen Rutherford, 59, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 27th at Beltway Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Glen was born November 28, 1953 in San Angelo, Texas to Ernest and Ardelia (Draper) Rutherford. He graduated from Abilene High School. Glen married Lana Paulette McBride on October 18, 1980 in Abilene, Texas. He worked as a salesman for Hanner R.V. in Baird. He loved cooking for his family and friends and he was always the first to lend a helping hand. He always was one to put others first. He loved his wife and girls dearly, BEST OF ALL HE LOVED BEING A "PAPA". Glen was a member of Beltway Park Baptist Church and was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walter Lee Rutherford. Glen is survived by his wife, Lana Rutherford of Abilene; two daughters, Kristen Rutherford, and Michelle Johnson and husband Trinity Chad Johnson, all of Abilene; one brother, Robert Rutherford of Herndon, VA; two grandchildren, Skyler and Chase Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
