Gladys Carter

Mrs. Charlie (Gladys) Carter, 76 of Lubbock, formerly of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006. She was born March 8, 1930 in Eden, Texas and grew up in Hamlin. She married Charlie Carter in Hamlin, Texas on June 28, 1946. She worked in banks for twenty six years and she was a member of Wylie Baptist Church in Abilene for twenty two years. She is survived her husband, Charlie Carter of Lubbock, two sons and their wives, Mike and Tina Carter and Mark and Debbie Carter all of Lubbock. Five grandchildren, Tiffany Fry and her husband Joe Ben of Abilene, Brandon Carter of Lubbock, Brandt Carter and wife Summer of Riverbank, CA., Josh Carter of Lubbock and Taylor Koontz and her husband Justin of Southland, Texas. Three great grandchildren, Charlie and Kate Carter of Riverbank, CA and Kaden Koontz of Southland, Tx. Also several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in The Hamil Family Chapel, with Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
