Gertrude Teresa Kuss McFaul, 80, of Abilene, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 23 followed by a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 am on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Robert Bush officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
Teresa was born on September 22, 1932 in Hermleigh, Texas to A.J. and Isabella (Roemisch) Kuss. She had worked in the retail clothing industry in Abilene and Amarillo. Teresa lived in Sweetwater, Hereford and Amarillo before moving back to Abilene in 2003. She was a talented opera singer. Teresa was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tina Guinn, her brother, Edgar Kuss, and her husband, Carl McFaul. Teresa is survived by three sons, Daniel McFaul and wife Jay of Amarillo, Jim McFaul and wife Crissie of Houston, and Tim McFaul and wife Sandra of Amarillo; one daughter, Diana Hartmann and husband Ronnie of Abilene; two sisters, Ella Seidenberger of Andrews and Gladys Light of Abilene; one sister-in-law, Dottie Kuss; nine grandchildren, Alan, Kari, Stephani, Shaun, Kelly, Courtni, Anson, Jessa and Katie; eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie Hartmann, Alan Hartmann, Shaun McFaul, Kelly Guinn and Anson McFaul will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Windcrest Alzheimer’s Care Center for the kindness and care shown to Teresa.
