Geraldine "Jerry" Wright

Geraldine (Jerry) Elaine Wright, 91, of Abilene, passed away on July 16, 2022, in Abilene, Texas.

Jerry is survived by her sons Alan Wright and wife, Sue, of Abilene, Texas, and Gary Wright and wife, Leah, of Burleson, Texas; daughter-in-law Lauren Wright of Abilene, Texas; her brother, Vaden Hays and wife Carol; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and two nieces & one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wright; her daughter, Leslie Frazier; her son, Chad Wright; her parents, Delmont & Tinnie Maye Hays; and her brother, Joaquin Hays.

Jerry was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on April 5, 1931 to Delmont & Tinnie Maye Hays. She grew up in Northfield, Texas. She attended & then graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1951 where she met the love of her life, Bill Wright. On August 23, 1951, she married Bill Wright. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Jerry was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved Jesus. Bill & Jerry loved travelling with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes included dominos, 42, bridge, tennis, and badminton. She loved cooking for her family & friends, and had a passion for watching her children & grandchildren play sports. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11 am at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Christian Service Center in Abilene, Texas.
