Gerald Brown, 76, died September 1, 2007 in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 3, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Wylie Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Potosi Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Gerald was born April 21, 1931 in Winters, Texas to John Francis and Laura "Pet" (Smith) Brown. He served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1955, he married Linda Allen in Abilene. Gerald was a resident of Abilene and the surrounding areas his entire life. He was a member of the Wylie Baptist Church.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Griffin Brown; two sisters, Pauline Rogers and Francis McKey; and two grandchildren, Amy Brown and Matthew Brown. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Mitch Brown and his wife, Cindy of Abilene; Kirk Brown and his wife, Teri of Abilene; three brothers, Earnest Brown of Winters, Pyburn Brown of Winters, and Wesley Brown of Houston; seven grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Breanne Brown, Candice Brown, Stacie Durham, Christopher Brown, Zachary Brown, and Jessica Stover; one great-grandchild Katlyn Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
