George Marshall Hooper

George Marshal Hooper, 93, passed away Monday, November 7, 2005 at a local nursing center. Graveside services are scheduled for today, Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 3:00 pm at the Blackwell Cemetery, with Leroy Mason officiating, under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Mr. Hooper was born in Blackwell, Texas to Austin Hooper and Virginia Ora Davis Hooper on September 27, 1912. He served in the United States Army and was a longtime resident of Blackwell, Texas before moving to Abilene. Mr. Hooper was a Baptist. His wife Verdie Mae Hooper preceded him in death on April 15, 1991. He is survived by two sons, Ron Hooper and his wife Tricia of Tucson, Arizona, Larry Hooper of Abilene; one daughter, Patricia Hooper of Abilene; one sister Marie Henderson of Yuma, Arizona, and one grandson Justin Hooper of Salt Lake City, Utah.
