George Edward Glenn, age 82, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, on December 10, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Clyde Kieshnick officiating. Burial will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
George was born in Littlefield, Texas to Charles and Alice Glenn on October 4, 1933. He went to school in Morton, Texas and graduated from Morton High School and New Mexico State University.
George married Jeanine Glenn on October 27, 1999 in Carmichaels, PA. He worked as an electrical engineer for Texas Instruments and Halliburton until his retirement. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army. He was involved in Meals on Wheels, Zion Lutheran's Men's Prayer Group and played dominos at Abilene Regional Medical Center Seniors Group.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Glenn and Alice Taylor. He is survived his wife Jeanine Glenn, his son John Glenn and daughter-in-law Kim Glenn ,of Little Rock, Arkansas; his daughter Christine Glenn Poage, of Arlington, Texas; his sister Sidney Naranjo, of Socorro, New Mexico; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family of George Glenn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nursing staff of the ER, floor 3 and CCU for the great care they gave to him and our family. We would also like to thank the respiratory therapist for the care they gave him while he was on the ventilator and hospice care for making him and our family comfortable in his time of need.
