Georganne Conway

Georganne Conway, 71, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2024, in Abilene.

 Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Baggs, Interim Vice-Provost at Abilene Christian University officiating. 

 Georganne was born in Littlefield, Texas, to David Claude DeBusk and Georgie Mae Guthrie DeBusk on August 26, 1952. She attended Littlefield High School and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University. She married Gary W. Conway on August 20, 1970, in Littlefield, Texas. She worked for many years in Human Resources for the Texas Workforce Commission, TSTC - Sweetwater, Hendrick Medical Center, and Hendrick Cancer Center. She was passionate about helping and educating others about living with breast cancer and healthy living. She was an active member of Beltway Park Church and loved the small group in which she and Gary took part.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, David Claude DeBusk and Georgie Mae Guthrie DeBusk.

 Georganne is survived by her husband, Gary W. Conway; her daughter Jaci (Stewart) Chapman; her son Gary Michael (Taffi) Conway; her son Leighton Bradley Conway; her brother David Ray DeBusk; her granddaughters Emily (Josh) Nieman, Maura Chapman, and Grayson (Ethan) Conatser; her grandsons Jackson McCrae Chapman, Andrew Conway, and Gene Conway; and her great-grandchildren Mason, Madilyn, Mia, and McKenna Nieman.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Cornerstone Christian School in Sweetwater, Texas; Cancer Services Network in Abilene, Texas; or Beltway Park Church in Abilene, Texas.

 The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care Unit at Hendrick Medical Center.
