Gene Brady, 61, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Dallas, TX. Born in Pleasanton California at Parks Air Force Base on August 28, 1957. Gene was the son of the late Matilda Mary (Krzyzak) and Eugene Patrick Brady. He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Accounting. Gene had been a resident of Abilene since 1974 and was a C.P.A. working for TransOil Marketing. He was involved in the oil and gas industry throughout his career. Gene enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and his granddaughters. He enjoyed reading, rock hunting, and spending time at the lake. Gene married Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Sojourner in Abilene on August 25, 1979. Gene enjoyed coaching youth sports for his two sons. He received a black belt in taekwondo. He enjoyed aviation and even learned to fly. He was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene. Gene is survived by his wife, Cindy Brady of Abilene; two sons, Branon Brady and wife Jamie, and Brian Brady and wife Bethany all of Abilene; two brothers, Bob Brady and wife Esther of Syracuse, NY and Mike Brady and wife Mary Ann of Liverpool, NY; two sisters, Bonnie Brady of Lubbock, and Darlene Martin and husband Randy of Abilene; two grandchildren, Ana James and Trinity, and one on the way named Madison Brady. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene, officiated by Bob Benham. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.
