Gelora Willson Farr, 72, passed from this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home in Abilene.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday March 27, 2021 at the Wylie Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Wylie Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Harkrider and Jim Renfro, officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Gelora was born on July 27, 1948 in Abilene to Roy and Odie (Davis) Willson. She graduated from Wylie High School in 1966. She and Larry Farr were married on April 5, 1968 in Abilene.
Gelora worked for the Abilene State Supported Living Center for 32 years. She was an avid quilter and loved to sew and cross stitch. She was a member of the Saturday Sister’s Quilting Group. Gelora enjoyed traveling with Larry, however, her greatest passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Gelora was a member of the Wylie Baptist Church.
Gelora was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Teagyn Ainsley Wood.
Gelora is survived by her husband Larry of Abilene; one son, Duane Farr and wife Nicole of Abilene; one daughter, Ginger Wood and husband Wesley of Abilene; one sister; Lavell Hancock and husband Alan of Abilene; and four grandchildren, Cashlin and Caitlin Farr and Ayden and Adley Wood.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Ward, John Thomas, Ken Hogan, Archie Jobe, Red Merrill, and Clyde McMinn.
Family suggests memorials may be made to Wylie Baptist Church Cornerstone Class or Hospice of the Big Country.
