Gary D. Latham, beloved husband, father and Pops, passed from this life on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Family visitation will be Wednesday, July 25th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26th at 10:30am at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with James Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Gary was born in Knox City on August 19, 1947, to Alfred Samuels and Lena Lodean Latham. He graduated from Munday High School in 1965. He was proud to be a Munday Mogul and continued to play football while attending McMurry College.
On December 28, 1990, he married the love of his life, Ann Latham.
Gary loved spending time outdoors particularly golfing, fishing, and hunting. Some of his most treasured times were spent at stock shows with family and friends. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his granddaughters.
Gary had a lifelong career selling cars. He truly valued all of the friends he made along the way. After retiring from the car business, Gary began driving a bus for Wylie ISD. He enjoyed picking up the kids for school.
Gary is survived by his wife, Ann Latham; sons Trey (Emily) Gilmore of Brock, TX, and Michael (Jennifer) Gilmore of Santa Fe, NM; daughter Julie Law of Seattle, WA; granddaughters Mena & Ciaran Gilmore of Santa Fe, NM and Kynlee & Kolyer Gilmore of Brock, TX; sister Judy (JC) Oliver of Abilene, TX; sister-in-law Linda Latham of Munday, TX; several nieces & nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ruddy Latham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ben Richey Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 6839, Abilene, TX 79608.
