1963 — May 31, 2007

Gary Glenn Chrane, 44, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007 after a courageous 8 ½ year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Highway 36 Church of Christ with Jon Schwiethale officiating. Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. February 11, 1963, Glenn was born to Leo Gary Chrane and Sandra Myrle (Hicks) Chrane in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Clyde High School and attended Cisco Junior College and Southwest Texas State University. July 11, 1987, Glenn married Cindy LaNell Koger in Elk City, Kansas. One the various jobs Glenn had through his life was owning and operating his own truck. He was also employed by Keith and Sons, Midway Plumbing and CAL Materials. Glenn was a salesman for Matco Tools for ten years and he also worked for Dudley Drilling. Born a farm and ranch boy, Glenn loved working with his father and grandfather "Pappy" on the family farm his entire life. Glenn loved life, his family and friends. He was a great mechanic and loved to work on anything with wheels and a motor. Meeting and making new friends was one of Glenn's favorite activities. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife, Cindy, and their friends, as they road many miles together. Glenn was a member of the Highway 36 Church of Christ. Glenn is survived by his wife, Cindy of Potosi; his parents, Gary and Sandra Chrane of Dudley; two sons, Garrett and Troy Chrane of Potosi; his sister, Melissa Chrane Bates and her husband Jerry of Leakey, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David Ratliff, Gary Richardson, Mike Paul, Marty Parker, Rusty Wood and Brian Estes will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made in Glenn's honor to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605 or to the Leukemia or Lymphoma Society Donor Service, 8111 LBJ Freeway, Suite 425, Dallas, Texas 75251.
